Chapter 7 - What Was Completely TrueWeeks later, Bianca learned through an attorney that Tania hadn't wanted money. She'd wanted Trent to openly acknowledge his daughter. That didn't excuse what she'd done — the deception, the swapped envelope, the note hidden beneath a cake meant for a celebration that wasn't hers to interfere with. But it explained the photograph. It explained the note.
Bianca eventually met the little girl. Not because Trent asked. Because Bianca said the child had done nothing wrong.
That was when I knew my daughter would be all right. Not immediately. Not easily. But eventually.
Months later, Bianca gave birth to a healthy baby boy. I was at the hospital when they placed him in her arms. She cried again.
This time, I didn't have to wonder why.
She looked down at him and smiled, then whispered, "Hi, baby. I've been waiting for you."
