Chapter 2 - Three Weeks of BraggingOver the next three weeks, I watched everything unfold with cold amusement.

Renata flooded social media with daily updates, posting furniture catalogues and tagging local moving companies with captions like:

"Out with the old, moving into our gorgeous $350,000 high-rise condo on the 15th! Hard work finally pays off!"

My mother called three times, heavily hinting about how rewarding it was to share blessings with siblings who were less fortunate. But neither she nor Renata ever bothered to ask for my permission. They simply assumed I would hand over the keys and move aside like a submissive ghost.

I played the oblivious daughter perfectly. I answered their calls cheerfully, nodded along, and never confirmed or denied anything.

Behind the scenes, my life was moving fast. I hired an overnight professional packing crew to move all my personal belongings, artwork, and furniture into a climate-controlled container headed for Austin, Texas, where I had quietly accepted a senior partner position with a private equity firm that doubled my salary.

By January 10th, the institutional cash buyer had completed the title search and wired the full $350,000 purchase price directly into my private brokerage account. The deed was officially recorded with the county clerk. The electronic smart locks were reset. Possession was formally transferred to the new owner — a no-nonsense property management corporation specializing in executive corporate rentals.

I handed the final keys to the corporate representative, loaded my golden retriever into my SUV, and drove out of Colorado beneath a crisp morning sky.
